ABOUT NEWFOUNDLAND
The history of the Newfoundland dog breed is long and shrouded in mystery. The Newfoundland breed originated on the coast of Newfoundland in Canada. Basque fishermen were believed to have introduced Newfies to the country. Although the reason why they opted to bring a flock-guarding dog is vague, they gradually developed the Newf as a working dog, both on land and water. Newfoundland evolved with water-resistant double coats and webbed feet. These traits made them highly adaptable to working in various jobs. The Newfie’s build made it capable of hauling fishing nets and pulling carts filled with fish to the market. The breed’s most important job involves water rescues. These water dogs swam out to shipwreck victims on lifelines. Many experts believe that the Newfoundland dog breed descended from the Tibetan Mastiff and the now-extinct American Black Wolf. Another theory suggests that the breed came from Portuguese Mastiffs brought by Portuguese fishermen in the 16th century. Newfoundlands were also believed to have descended from the Great Pyrenees dogs and black retrievers. Others claim that the Newfoundland shares many physical traits with the St. Bernard and the English Mastiff, with its stout legs, large heads, bull necks, and broad snouts. The Newfoundland was first shown in England in 1860, whilst the American Kennel Club first registered the breed in 1879. In 1886, the Newfoundland Club was created in the UK and is now the oldest stud club in Britain.
HOW WE BECAME NEWFOUNDLAND BREEDERS
Thanks for visiting our website. I am called Paolo Lewis. The Lewis family are the owner of this wonderful Newfoundland. We have been breeding this lovely breed of dogs since 2016. My wife and I are pet lovers, so we took the initiative to breed this lovely breed to meet the needs of families who want to own or add a new member to their family. My knowledge about the Newfoundland has grown over the years, as they are a very smart breed that teaches us new things every day. My history with owning a puppy goes right back to my Christmas holidays when I was 10 years old. My parents bought me a lovely Newfoundland puppy, which I named Liam. Liam gave me a lot of childhood memories when I was growing up as a teen. He was more than a best friend to me. He was so lovely and friendly. Each time I got angry back then, Liam was always there to console me and make me smile again. I always thought he could talk as he understood me so much. I sometimes speak to him, hoping he will respond. Everywhere I went, Liam was with me. I met my wife in college. We were very good friends back then. She loved Liam until she insisted that her parents get her a Newfoundland. That was how our love for this lovely dog breed grew. Our dogs used to play together. Unfortunately, in our later years at college, I lost my lovely puppy, Liam. We grew up loving each other so much and loving this dog breed. Later on, we got married, and with our love for Newfoundlands, we decided to breed and raise this dog breed, and why not educate puppy lovers about the importance of owning a Newfoundland puppy? Fast forward to today, my wife and I raise our 2 kids and breed our puppies on our 3 acres of land, where they have enough space to play. My family and I are dedicated to helping everyone own the perfect, healthy puppy for their home. With our knowledge of this dog breed from childhood, we will say Newfoundlands are the best dogs to own. We train these puppies and help families own the most intelligent dogs in this breed. If you want a loving, good-training family dog, you have come to the right place. Visit our available puppies page to see our amazing puppies available for their new home
